This letter is part of the Howard Greer collection, available at the Center for Western Studies. The collections contains letters, newspaper clips, and a biography of Ross Elliott Greer. The correspondence is principally from Hamilton Greer to his wife (Louisa Greer) and from Ray L. Greer (son of Hamilton and Louisa) to his brother, Ross E. Greer. Howard Greer was a member of the 45th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry (OVI), 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 4th A.C. during the American Civil War.
