|Item Description||This merchant order form from A. C. Raymond was written to fulfill J. B. Amidon's order on January 16, 1829. The document details the various items including four gallons of molasses purchased.|
|Collection Description||This is a part of the larger Mary Doran collection available at the Center for Western Studies. The collection is composed of four artifacts that were donated through the Minnehaha County Historical Society. This merchant's order from and a booklet titled "Echoes from the Sioux" were donated most recently. A letter addressed to Martha Amidon from Mahala Amidon written in regards to the death of Joseph and William Amidon was first donated, followed by a hand cancelled envelope to Lizzie (Eliza) J. Amidon. The envelope has a printed political cachet, publicizing the first presidential campaign of Abraham Lincoln.|
