The Lois Thompson Collection is comprised of documents, photographs, and publications depicting Thompson's experiences as a student at the Piedmont, SD, school district, Rapid City High School, Huron College, and later as a teacher at Piedmont. Of particular note is a scrapbook of clippings meant to inspire ideas for dramatic productions, ca. 1932. Miscellaneous materials include the "Biennial Report of the Board of Managers of the South Dakota State Soldiers Home" (1912), a "National Platforms of the Republican, Democratic, Independence, Prohibition, and Peoples Parties" brochure (1908), a "South Dakota League of Women Voters" song sheet issued by Beadle County League, and 26 postcards depicting Black Hills, Badlands, and national park scenes. The collection also contains yearbooks from Huron College and Rapid City High School. The Lois Thompson Collection is available at the Center for Western Studies.
