The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra Collection includes Board minutes, official documentation, newspaper clippings, programs, newsletters, recordings, and other documents. The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra has existed in Sioux Falls, SD, since 1922. It was also known as the Augustana Town and Gown, The Sioux Falls Symphony Orchestra, and the Gypsy Orchestra. The Kent Scribner collection was absorbed into this collection. Note: the dimensions measurement for this collection include two linear feet of VHS concert recordings and one linear foot of magnetic reel audiotape recordings. The dimensions measurement does not include DVDs, compact cassettes, or CDs. Other related collections include the Arthur Huesboe Collection and the Susan Haig Collection. The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra Collection is available at the Center for Western Studies.
