The Theodore Roosevelt Collection, available at the Center for Western Studies, contains a political campaign pamphlet on behalf of Republicans C. H. Burke, R. S. Vessey, and E. W. Martin running for re-election in South Dakota (ca. 1910). The pamphlet quotes ex-president Theodore Roosevelt saying, "It seems to me that when men go into a primary they ought to abide by the results, and I hope that Vessey, Burke, and Martin, who won out in the primary, will be heartily supported at the polls."
