Collection Description
The Historic Sioux Falls Slide Collection, available at the Center for Western Studies, consists of nearly 3,000 photographic slides of Sioux falls and the surrounding area from the 1860s - 1970s. These images depict various historic periods, locations, items, personalities and events. The collection is divided into 16 different sections. These sections include: Industry, Public Buildings, Business Buildings, Transportation, River and Bridges, Street Scenes, Houses, People, Parks, Institutions and Organizations, Churches, Civic Organizations, Small Surrounding Cities, Miscellaneous Sioux Falls items, Bird's eye view of the city, and a select Non-Sioux Falls photographs.
