Partially beaded bag on native hide with star-like motif on front in light blue, dark blue and yellow. Reverse side is similar. The bag has a hide drawstring closure at the top and yellow and blue beaded fringes at the bottom. These bags were made by the Apache for sale, trade and as gifts.
Collection Description
This item is part of the larger Blue Cloud Abbey-American Indian Cultural Research Center Collection available at the Center for Western Studies. The collection houses the research center's official papers, correspondence, artifacts and other items. The collection was donated by Fr. Stanislaus Maudlin and Rev. Thomas Roznowski and also contains a large selection of photographs and negatives focused on daily life of Native Americans and the workings of Blue Cloud Abbey.
