(Photo by Rogers) Annual All Nations F¢stival Is Saturda Holiday Spirit of Foreign Lands Is Displayed With Booths, Program Augustana's fifteenth annu-al All Nations Christmas fes-tival, featuring Christmas carols, customs, decorations, and traditions from eleven nations around the world, opens Saturday, December 8, in the gym at 4 p.m. and con-tinues through 10 p.m. Augustana's All Nations radiates an international Christmas spirit and belongs exclusively to our campus holiday season. Les Joseph-son, All Nations chairman, announced there will be three programs this year, instead of two, these being presented at 5:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. The program will be pre-sented from a decorated plat-form in the center of the gym Students who have not passed the proficiency test in arithmetic will have an opportunity to take this test at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Decem-ber 12, in Room One of the Science Building. A passing score in this test is required for gradua-tion. and consist exclusively of Christmas carols. Singing German Christmas carols will be the German Round Sing-erq, while a mixed motet consisting of six or eight voices will sing carols from America. Two solos, "Green Sleeves". and a familiar Christmas carol, will be sung by Dan Stevens. Working hard behind the scenes are the committee chairmen of All Nations. They are as follows: DeAnne Hart, food; Larry Major, busi-ness manager; Dave Lerseth and Obed Nelson, construc-tion; Connie Herseth, pro-gram book; and Marion Lind-gren, publicity. Booths will be creatively built and decorated to repre-sent Germany, Africa, Rus-sia, Hungary, China, France, Italy, England, Holland, Mexico, and the Scandinavi-an countries. Foods from these countries will be served by students dressed in their country's native cos-tume. Lefse, a specialty of the Scandinavian countries, at-tracts many Norskies, while luscious roast pig and ale at-tract several followers for England. Hungary offers (Continued on Page 6) Kappa Delta Pi Initiates Thirty-Four Into Society Brothers Under the Skin Plans Caroling Party at Old Folks' Home Sunday Brothers Under the Skin is planning a Christmas car-oling party December 9, Sun-day night at 6:45 p.m. Carols will be sung at each of the Sioux Falls o 1 d people's homes and then the carolers will return to Tuve Hall for refreshments and fellowship in the recreation room. Any-one interested in joining in is invted to meet at Tuve at 6:45 the night of the party. If possible, bring a car along as cars and drivers are need-ed. A good time awaits all who participate in this activ-ity. PEMM To Hold Christmas Party Members of the PEMM (Physical Education Majors and Minors) will hold a Christmas party on Thurs-day, December 13, from 8 to 10:00 p.m. at the Old Grange House, 2101 South Grange. All physical education ma-jors and minors are invited to attend this annual get-to-gether. Mary Lou Haylor, president of PEMM, is in charge of the party which will include informal carol-ing and snacks afterwards to keep in the traditional holi-day spirit. Thirty-four new members will be initiated into the Io-ta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an honor society in Education, at a banquet De-cember 12. The purpose of Kappa Delta Pi is to encour-age high professional, intel-lectual, and personal stand-ards and to recognize out-standing contributions to ed-ucation. A student elected to membership in Kappa Delta Pi remains a member for life, and as an active member, re-ceives The Educational For-um, the official magazine of the Society. Requisites for membership in the Iota Lambda Chapter are full junior collegiate ranking, general scholarship of grade ranking in the up-per one-fifth of the school, work in education consisting of three to six hours, indica-tion of continued interest in the field of education, and desirable personal habits and leadership attributes. New members include Mar-jorie Anderson, Sharon Bergstrom, Barbara Boesch, Carolyn B r u e, Rosemary Erickson, Donald Evenson, Judith Evers, Carol Fuere-stein, Evadne Gilbert, Joan Goehring, Lois Harder, Kar-en Johnson, Carol Jukam, Karen Kurvink, Karen Lang-pap, Dianne Larson, Karen M. Larson, Marion Lindgren, Norma Lunde, Donna Mc- Cann, Eunice Nicolai, Arlys Nilson, James Olson, Carole Overby, Delores Overby, Car-ole Peterson, Nyla Reetz, Leah Schultz, Carolyn Thies-sen, Janice Ustrud, Bonnie Svarstad, Barbara Waggoner, Evelyn Wierenga, Teresa Fitzgerald. These students were selected on the basis of the contributions they have rend-ered in various organizations and their high standards, representative of Augustana.
