Entered at the Post Office at Sioux Falls, S. D., as second class matter, May 35, 1899. The Lutheran Normal School Mirror Is devoted to the best interests of the parochial and common schools, and is published monthly (except July, August and September) by the Mirror Association. Terms-5o cents per year in advance. Single copy, 6c Contributions are solicited. Advertising rates furnished on application. Contributions, subscriptions, and remittances should be sent direct to the Editor-in-chief. "Mirror" will be sent to subscribers until ordered dis-continued. Notice to discontinue should be sent direct to the Editor-in-chief. Remember to notify us of any change in your address. Money should be sent by post office, or express money order, registered mail, or bank drafts. Do not send local checks or stamps. The program will be published in the next issue of MIRROR. • THE following program was rendered by the Lutheran Normal School Mission Society Saturday evening, Feb. 19 : Salme, 255. Sang "Min sjxl, loy Herren" Mixed chorus. Tale Past. Aanestad Kollekt. Vocal solo — "Prayer" Tosti Prof. Dahl. Velsignelsen. WE wish to direct the attention of our readers to the paper, which appears in this issue, on "Industrial Education for the Rural Schools," by Supt. C. G. Lawrence, of Lincoln Co. The author, who is one of South Dakota's most active and energetic schoolmen, deals with ex-perience and real conditions, not with theories. The paper is well written, inter-esting, and full of suggestions. We feel confident it will be read with keen in-terest. FRIDAY and Saturday evenings, Feb. 11 and 12, a preliminary declamatory con-test took place between 22 of the mem-bers of the two lower classes. The three upper classes acted as judges. The nine contestants who were judged to be the best, took part in the final contest, Tues-day evening Feb. 22. Three prizes were awarded : Louise Brendsel declaimed "Bobby Shaftoe," and received first prize of $7 Helen Solem declaimed "Heart of Old Hickory" and received second
