Headed by chairman Dave Sonnichsen and assistant chairman Dean Schueler, the Central Committee has been established. this year is Kim Behm. Filling out the remainder of the committees as chairmen will be Margaret Berg, festival booklet; Mike Dicks, program and decorations; Judy Eliasen, secretary; Dave and Steve Fredrickson, construction and arrangement; Nancy Fuqua, food; Steve Graff, dance, Rick Moe, business manager; Connie Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57102 Oksol and Ken Olson, publicity and Dawn Schroeder, foreign students activities. The ten booths planned for this year include Africa, China, England, Germany, Holland, Israel, North America, Poland, Scandinavia and Spain. In addition to the festival in the gymnasium featuring these countries, variety shows will be held in the Commons Cafeteria at various times throughout the evening. Two groups set to perform are the Brass Choir and the German Round Singers. It has been the wish of the Central Committee to make an Vol. 50 No. 9 attempt to continue All Nations beyond the span of the one-week period. This year they are encouraging campus decorations to promote a more universal appreciation of Christmas. Tentative plans include decorations for Berg-saker Hall, to be lighted prior to the festivities Friday evening and to remain throughout the Christmas season. It is the wish to have the remaining campus housing and buildings decorated with this same spirit in mind. All those interested in participating in the construction of the booths for All-Nations are asked to sign up in the ASA office. Scheduled to appear at a convocation lecture tomorrow, Friday, November 15, is Sir Tyrone Guthrie. He and his wife Lady Guthrie live in a castle in Ireland, where he is Chancellor of Queen University in Belfast. D r . Guthrie has won international fame for his production of operas, plays, and musical comedies in the United States and in Europe. As director of several London theatres he brought them to their period of greatest triumph. In 1962, Dr. Guthrie was asked to Minneapolis, Minn, to help in the founding of a theatre. The Minnesota theatre, which bears the name of Tyrone Guthrie, is one of the more well-known repertory companies in the United States, and the productions of the Guthrie artists are enjoyed by people the world over. Early this year he directed a production of Benjamin Britten's "Peter Grimes" fox the Metropolitan Opera in New York. This work was one of the first to be presented in the Opera house at the Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts. Dr. Guthrie's work in the theatre has been recognized everywhere, and the Guthrie theatre has brought much culture and pride to this part of the country. His lecture topic tomorrow will be "The Theatre and the Community " at the 9:30 convocation. During the rest of the day he will visit drama classes and speak with students informally in the Commons lounge. All Nations committee plans Christmas festivities missing Six film poster boards belonging to the UBG Recreation Board have been stolen from the Commons film board. The people that took these must not have realized the posters are valued at $15 each. The UBG Recreation Board requests that they be returned to the Commons immediately. From now on, the theft of these poster boards will be considered petty larceny. Augustana will have an opportunity to taste "Tom Turkey" before they journey home for Thanksgiving when they attend the Thanksgiving Banquet, Wednesday, November 20. The feast, complete with turkey, cranberries, pumpkin pie, and lefse, will be served in the Commons Cafeteria at 5:30 P.M. Tickets will be on sale in the Commons. The cost is $1.50 and a dime for the Social Board. Mealbooks may be used to purchase the tickets. Students will have the pleasure of eating a meal served by professors, because the Augie faculty will be waiting on ',bles for the Banquet. Jan Grevlos and Pam Anderson, co-chairmen for the event, have asked that anyone on the Augustana faculty who would like to help, would please contact either of the co-chairmen or Mrs. Huseboe. Jan and Pam urge you to get a headstart on the holiday festivities by attending the Thanksgiving Banquet. You won't regret it!
